Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Greg’s overall High School record is 391 wins and 80 losses. Berea won 20 games every year under Greg despite never hitting the 20 win plateau before in school history. Berea won the 1998 11th Region Championship before advancing to the Sweet Sixteen Final Four. In seven seasons at Lexington Catholic, he amassed the most victories in the state of Kentucky and won three State Championships 2001, 2005, 2006. His teams won six 11th Region Championships and he is the first coach in state history to coach in 4 consecutive state title games. He had 3 State Championships and 5 State title game appearances in a six-year period. His 2005-06 team finished the season ranked No. 3 in the Nation by USA Today and Greg was named EA Sports National Coach of the Year. In 2017 Greg was inducted into the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame.
