Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Katie started varsity for Allen Central Volleyball her 8th Grade year. Her accomplishments are numerous and she has put up some big numbers. She wrapped up her high school career with 242 Aces, 2501 Kills, 123 Assists, 1047 Blocks, and 1028 Digs. She is the only 15th Region and Eastern Kentucky Player to be recognized as an All-American. She was selected the ‘A’ Class Player of the Year for the State, First Team All-State (three years), 15th Region Player of the Year, Max Preps and AVCA State Player of the Week (three times), All ‘A’ Classic State Tournament All-Tournament Team (three years), 15th Region All-Tournament Team (five years) and MVP (four years), 58th District All-Tournament Team (5 Years) and MVP (three years), and All-Conference Team (six years). In her career, Katie was instrumental in compiling a 159 – 37 overall record (82 – 4 in 15th Region play). She contributed to Allen Central’s dominance in the 15th Region, winning five consecutive 15th Regional All ‘A’ Championships (her teams were All ‘A’ Classic State Tournament semi-finalists four times and State Runners-Up once) and five consecutive KHSAA 15th Region Championships. She was a member of the only volleyball team from the 15th Region to make it to the Elite 8 in the KHSAA State Tournament. Katie signed and is playing volleyball at Bluefield College.
