Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Four year state champion in two events: 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley. Only member of the Eastern Swim team her freshmen and sophomore year. Bronze medalist in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City as a 16 year old Eastern student in the 100 butterfly. She was chosen as an All-American as a sophomore in fall 1967. She was an excellent student who still managed to juggle her scholastics with competing in the 1968 Olympics for the United States. Its an amazing story.
