KHSAA Help with Adobe Acrobat®
Why Adobe?
The Adobe Acrobat® Reader allows the Association to put documents up for web
access that will appear exactly as they do on paper. In this way, forms and other
documents can be viewed and printed with the accuracy they need rather than fitting onto a
particular printer.
What if I click on a document labeled PDF and
nothing happens?
First of all, be patient. PDF files are by nature, graphic intensive (although they
are very small), and they may take a little while to load, especially in a slower machine.
If the browser tells you it doesn't know how to handle the file, or nothing happens
after an extended period of time, you may need to get a new version of the reader.
What if I don't have Acrobat Reader® or need to
download it?
First of all, it is free. So don't worry about charges for the reader. It is an add-in for
your browser that allows you to read these types of files. If you need the file, you
can download the reader by clicking on THESE
WORDS which will automatically allow you to read the documents.
Some browsers will automatically install the program once downloaded. Others will
require you to install the downloaded file. If installation is required, point to the
directory into which you saved the downloaded file by using Windows Explorer or file
manager. Then double click on the file name and the installation will happen
automatically. You will then need to reload Explorer / Navigator to make sure the
add-in is functioning.
What if I have trouble with the install?
Adobe has a help site available. Just click on THESE WORDS to access the help.
